What are the electrical performance tests for Fakra cables?

Conductivity test: Use a multimeter or other tools to test the conductivity of the cable, ensuring good conductivity between the inner and outer conductors, as well as between different core wires, without any open circuits. The measured resistance value should comply with the specifications of the cable. Generally speaking, the resistance of the inner and outer conductors of Fakra cables has a certain standard range. Excessive resistance may indicate poor quality of the conductor material or poor contact.

Insulation resistance test: Use an insulation resistance tester to measure the insulation resistance between the inner and outer conductors of the cable, between different core wires, and between the conductor and the outer sheath. The insulation resistance should be high enough, generally requiring a megohm level or above, to prevent signal leakage and short circuits.

Characteristic impedance test: Characteristic impedance is an important electrical performance indicator of Fakra cables, generally 50 Ω or 75 Ω. Use professional equipment such as network analyzers to test the characteristic impedance of cables, and its value should be within the specified tolerance range, otherwise it will cause signal reflection and transmission loss to increase.

Insertion loss and standing wave ratio test: Measure the insertion loss and voltage standing wave ratio of cables through network analyzers and other equipment. Insertion loss should be as low as possible to ensure minimal energy loss during signal transmission; The voltage standing wave ratio should be close to 1, indicating high transmission efficiency and low reflection of the signal in the cable.
